Monday January 23rd marks a second chance for the New Year. It is the first New Moon of 2012 in the sign of Aquarius, and it also marks the start of the Chinese New Year, this year is the year of the Dragon.
Aquarius is represented as the Water-Bearer. In this sense, water represents life, and the one that is bearing life. The spirit of Aquarius bears witness to life, which means it provides evidence of life, and in this case through water. Part of what makes Planet Earth unique is the presence of water, and alongside it, the presence of much life. We know that our planet is predominately water, and so are our bodies. We are water, we are life.
With the sign of Aquarius ruling the New Moon, this is a good time to evaluate what kind of life are you? What is your life? Do you see it as a gift, as an agent of change, or as a hindrance. Similar to water, life is a precious gift. It is a tool to beget more life, and to evolve what we know of life.

This is the Year of the Dragon! The dragon represents good luck and wealth. In many myths, we think of dragons that need to be slayed. “Our fears are like dragons
guarding our deepest treasures.”

guarding our deepest treasures.”

We are taught to fear, but the dragon reminds us that there is nothing to fear, that even the scariest parts and things in our life are holding potential.
